On-board cellular network communication hardware.

A

ACC

Also known as: Accessory

The vehicle ignition signal used by a Device.

Account Manage

Also known as: Account Management

Role-based user access control system (e.g., administrator vs. standard user).

Activation

The first successful connection that sends valid data to the platform.

ADC

Also known as: Analog-to-Digital Converter

Circuit that converts an analog signal to a digital value.

Administrator

The User with full account control.

Alarm Record

Also known as: Alarm Triggered Recording

Selective recording triggered only when safety alarms or sensor anomalies occur.

Alert

An abnormal or important event raised by a Device or platform condition.

API

Also known as: Application Programming Interface

Defined interface that lets software components exchange data or commands.

API Key

A credential that identifies an API client.

API Secret

A private credential used with an API Key.

APN

Also known as: Access Point Name

Carrier network access point configuration used for cellular dialing.

APP Version

Also known as: Application Version

Software release version number of the mobile MCTool application.

Auto Record

Also known as: Automatic Recording

Default continuous loop recording mode initiated upon ACC vehicle ignition.

B

BD

Also known as: BeiDou Navigation Satellite System

Chinese satellite navigation system providing high-precision positioning services.

Bitrate

Also known as: Bit Rate

Amount of data processed per unit of time in video encoding (e.g., Kbps/Mbps).

BSD

Also known as: Blind Spot Detection

A blind spot detection system that detects vehicles in a blind spot.

C

Calibration

The process that maps a known physical value to a sensor reading.

CAN bus

Standard for serial communication between devices without host computer

A vehicle network that lets electronic control units exchange data.

Center Platform

Also known as: Central Monitoring Platform

Remote monitoring server supporting standard protocols (e.g., JT/T 808).

Channel

One video input or camera on a Device.

ChipID

Also known as: Chip Identification

Physically unique identifier of the mainboard SoC chip.

CMS

Also known as: Customer Management System

Platform area for managing customer accounts, users, and related settings.

CNAME

Also known as: Canonical Name

DNS record that maps an alias to a canonical domain name.

Command

A remote request sent from the platform to a Device.

Concurrent Login

The use of one User account on more than one client or browser at the same time.

Configuration

The saved settings that control a Device or platform feature.

Customer

The top-level account that owns and manages users and devices.

D

Dashboard

The account overview. Its data can have a delay and is not always real time.

Debounce Time

Verification period required to confirm sustained anomaly status before triggering an alarm.

Delay Time

Also known as: Output / Power-off Delay Time

Duration for outputting IO signals or delayed power-off timer after vehicle ignition is switched off.

Demo Mode

Testing mode simulating a constant vehicle travel speed (e.g., 60 km/h).

Developer Platform

The area that provides OpenAPI and Webhook integration.

Device

Physical hardware installed on a vehicle or asset.

Device ID

The identifier assigned to a Device by the platform.

Device Management

The functions used to create, edit, configure, and remove Devices.

Disk Partition

Division of an SD card into separate logical areas to isolate different file types.

Distraction Alert

Also known as: Distraction Detection

Identifies instances where the driver's gaze leaves the forward roadway for an extended duration.

Distributor

A Customer that assigns platform resources to Enterprise customers.

DMS

Also known as: Driver Monitoring System

A driver monitoring system that observes driver state and behavior.

DNS

Also known as: Domain Name System

Network service that resolves domain names (e.g., server.com) into IP addresses.

Driver

A person associated with a Vehicle in Fleet Management.

E

Enterprise

A Customer that manages its own devices, fleets, and drivers.

Ethernet

Industrial-grade wired Ethernet physical interface.

F

FaceID

A unique identifier used for face recognition and Driver association.

Fatigue Alert

Also known as: Fatigue Detection

Visual analysis of driver eye closure duration and yawning frequency to detect drowsiness.

FCW

Also known as: Forward Collision Warning

Calculates relative speed and distance to preceding vehicles to evaluate rear-end collision risk.

Fleet

A logical group of vehicles or assets.

Frame Rate

Also known as: Frame Rate (FPS)

Number of consecutive image frames captured per second.

FTP

Also known as: File Transfer Protocol

Network protocol used for bidirectional file transfers between clients and servers.

G-Sensor

Also known as: Gravity Sensor

Built-in 3-axis accelerometer used to detect vehicle dynamics and impact forces in real time.

Geofence

A virtual circular or polygon boundary.

GIS

Also known as: Geographic Information System

System for storing, analyzing, and displaying geographic data.

GNSS Speed

Also known as: Global Navigation Satellite System Speed

Real-time vehicle travel speed resolved from combined GPS and BeiDou positioning.

GPS

Also known as: Global Positioning System

Satellite positioning system that parses latitude, longitude, and speed data.

H

HLS

Also known as: HTTP Live Streaming

Protocol that delivers media as a sequence of HTTP segments.

I

I/O

Also known as: Input/Output

Digital signal input/output channel; IN receives external trigger signals, while OUT outputs linked control signals.

I/O Port

A Device connection for input or output signals.

ICCID

Also known as: Integrated Circuit Card Identifier

Identifier of a SIM card.

Idling

ACC is ON while the Vehicle remains below the moving threshold for the configured time.

Intercom

Real-time voice communication between a client and a Device.

IoT

Also known as: Internet of Things

Network of physical devices that collect and exchange data.

IP Address

Also known as: Internet Protocol Address

Unique numerical logical address assigned to the terminal in a network.

IPC

Also known as: Internet Protocol Camera

High-definition network camera connected via Ethernet interface using TCP/IP protocols.

J

JSON

Also known as: JavaScript Object Notation

Text format for representing structured data.

K

KML

Also known as: Keyhole Markup Language

XML-based format for geographic data and map features.

L

Label

A text marker used to classify and filter Devices.

LDW

Also known as: Lane Departure Warning

Alarm issued when the vehicle drifts across lane markings without activating turn signals.

License

The authorization that allows a Device to use platform services.

Live

Also known as: Live Stream

The display of current video from a Device camera.

Live Preview

Feature providing real-time display of main or sub video streams across all channels.

Live Stream

Current video from a Device camera.

Log Download

Function used to export internal system operating logs (SysLog) to local storage.

Loop Recording

Storage mechanism that automatically overwrites the oldest unprotected video when storage is full.

Low Voltage Alarm

Protection alarm triggered when the main power input falls below a safe voltage threshold.

Main Stream

The high-quality video stream from a Device camera.

MCTool

The client used to configure and operate supported Devices.

MCU

Also known as: Microcontroller Unit

Low-level control chip responsible for power management, sensor data collection, and hardware scheduling.

MDVR

Also known as: Mobile Digital Video Recorder

Vehicle-mounted recorder that stores video from connected cameras.

Mobile App

The platform application for iOS or Android phones.

Monitor

The map view for current Device position, status, and speed.

Moving

A Device is above the configured speed threshold.

N

Notification

A message sent to a User because of an Alert or Rule.

NTP

Also known as: Network Time Protocol

Networking protocol used to synchronize terminal clocks with standard internet time servers.

O

OBD

Also known as: On-Board Diagnostics

Vehicle system that reports diagnostic data and fault codes.

Offline

A Device does not have a valid data connection.

Online

A Device has a valid data connection.

OSD

Also known as: On-Screen Display

Real-time text and watermark information overlaid on the video image.

Overspeed Alarm

Alarm triggered when vehicle speed continuously exceeds a set threshold for the debounce duration.

P

Parameter Manage

Also known as: Parameter Management

Module for importing, exporting, backing up, and restoring device parameter configurations.

PC Web

The platform opened in a desktop browser.

PDF

Also known as: Portable Document Format

File format that preserves document layout across systems.

Playback

Also known as: Video Playback

Menu for searching, playing back historical video stored on SD cards, or downloading snapshots.

Post-Record

Also known as: Post-Event Recording

Continues video recording for a set duration after an alarm event terminates (0–3600 seconds).

Power Manage

Also known as: Power Management

Power strategy settings including low-voltage cutoff, auto-reboot, and shutdown delay.

Pre-Record

Also known as: Pre-Event Recording

Buffers and saves video footage recorded prior to an alarm trigger (0–60 seconds).

Protected Duration

Also known as: Alarm File Protection Duration

Number of days lock protection is applied to alarm files to prevent cyclic overwriting.

Q

QR Code

Also known as: Quick Response Code

Composite QR code containing Wi-Fi details, IMEI, Device ID, and ChipID.

Report Center

The area for creating and managing reports.

Reseller

A Customer that sells or assigns platform resources to Enterprise customers.

Resolution

Also known as: Video Resolution

Pixel dimensions of the video image (e.g., 1080P, 720P).

RPM

Also known as: Revolutions Per Minute

Unit that expresses the number of rotations completed in one minute.

RS232

Also known as: Recommended Standard 232

Serial communication standard for exchanging data between devices.

RS485

Also known as: Recommended Standard 485

Serial communication standard that supports differential signaling and multiple devices.

Rule

Logic that combines conditions and actions.

S

SATA/USB

Also known as: Serial ATA / Universal Serial Bus

High-speed interfaces for expanded storage and data transfer.

Sell

The platform operation that assigns ownership of a Device or License to a lower-level Customer.

Sensitivity

Also known as: Alarm Sensitivity

Detection threshold for triggering AI and sensor safety alarms.

SIM

Also known as: Subscriber Identity Module

Card or embedded module that identifies a subscriber on a mobile network.

SMS

Also known as: Short Message Service

Mobile service for sending and receiving short text messages.

SSO

Also known as: Single Sign-On

Authentication method that lets a user access multiple services with one sign-in.

Stationary

A Device is below the configured speed threshold.

Streaming Service

A service that provides Live Stream, Intercom, and Video Playback functions.

Sub Stream

The lower-quality video stream from a Device camera that uses less data.

Sub-user

A User with permissions assigned by an Administrator or Superior User.

Superior User

The User who directly creates or manages a Sub-user.

System Clock

Internal time management module supporting manual adjustment, time zone selection, and network sync.

T

Terminal Config

Also known as: Terminal Configuration

Setup menu for vehicle properties (e.g., plate number, dimensions, initial mileage).

TF/SD Card

Also known as: TransFlash / Secure Digital Card

Industrial-grade portable flash memory card used for local terminal storage.

Time Snap

Also known as: Timed Snapshot

Feature that captures still images automatically at predefined time intervals (e.g., every 5 minutes).

Timed Record

Also known as: Timed Recording

Recording mode that operates automatically only within specified user-defined time windows.

TLS

Also known as: Transport Layer Security

Protocol that encrypts data exchanged over a network.

Token

A value that proves authorization for an API request.

Track Playback

A view of the recorded route of a Device or Vehicle.

Transfer

The general action of moving ownership or control of a Device or License.

TTS

Also known as: Text-to-Speech

Technology that converts text into spoken audio.

U

UART

Also known as: Universal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitter

Hardware serial communication interface (COM1/COM2) used for external peripheral connections.

Upgrade Manage

Also known as: Upgrade Management

Software update module for uploading firmware packages (e.g., `.sw` files).

USB

Also known as: Universal Serial Bus

Standard for connecting devices and transferring data or power.

User

A person authorized to use a Customer account.

Vehicle

The vehicle associated with a Device and, when applicable, a Driver.

Video Playback

Recorded video from a Device or server.

Video Tamper

Also known as: Video Tamper Detection

Alarm triggered by sudden large-scale pixel changes or camera video loss.

VIN

Also known as: Vehicle Identification Number

Unique identifier assigned to a vehicle.

W

WebAssembly

Assembly language and bytecode for web browsers

Also known as: Wasm

A binary instruction format designed for execution in web browsers.
